Dr. Ye Peng joined Highland in 2010 to focus on emerging growth opportunities in China, especially in the areas of Internet, wireless and digital media. He brings his extensive management, operational, as well as diversified industrial experience to the team.

Background

In April 2008 Peng joined Baidu, the leading Chinese search engine company as Chief Operation Officer. In this role, Peng improved overall sales operations efficiency and effectiveness, strengthened the partnership with all related parties, and achieved healthy revenue growth even under economic downturn in 2009.

Prior to Baidu, Peng served as Country General Manager of Apple China where he was responsible for Apple’s overall operations in China. There he led his team to re-establishing Apple’s China operations, achieving triple digit revenue growth within 2 years, and gaining the dominant market position in China's digital music player market.

Before joining Apple, Peng was Vice President & General Manager of China Union Operations for Motorola Asia. In the early 1990s, Peng served in several management positions in engineering, business operations, marketing, as well as Sales for Nortel Networks Europe in the U.K., and later on Nortel Networks China.
