Sam is a Principal based in Highland's London office focusing on investments in growth stage internet and software businesses. Sam is actively involved with Highland's investments in Privalia and PhotoBox.

Background

Prior to joining Highland, Sam was a Vice President at Insight Venture Partners in New York where he spent over 6 years investing in expansion stage software and internet-enabled businesses. While at Insight Sam was involved with investments in 3P Learning, Beatport, Groupalia, Mentez, Netsmart Technologies (acquired by Genstar Capital), OverDrive, PerTrac Financial Solutions, Primavera Systems (acquired by Oracle), Privalia and Studio Moderna. Sam previously spent time working in software development at S.H. Brooks Co. and Cognos (acquired by IBM).

Interests

As a former member of the U.S. National Rowing Team and Cambridge University Blue Boat, Sam has a strong interest in amateur sports. A native of Boston, USA, Sam keeps a close eye on the Red Sox and Patriots from London, where he lives with his wife, son and daughter.
